Circle of Parents Facilitator

Position Summary

The ideal candidate is preferably a parent of a child with disabilities and/or a medically complex condition. A background in counseling, education, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Schedule and Supervision:
Hours of work and scheduling are determined annually based on program needs and available funding. The Circle of Parents Facilitator reports to the Director of Community Outreach and Development.

Circle of Parents Group Formation and Facilitation

  • Conduct recruitment of Circle of Parents group locations, participants, and in-kind donation partners.
  • Plan and implement group sessions that create a welcoming, inclusive, affirming, and supportive environment.
  • Facilitate peer-led parent support groups with Circle of Parents model fidelity.
  • Promote group participation and follow up with participants as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships within the community.
  • Maintain attendance records and session notes.
  • Communicate group needs, feedback, and success stories with FSNCC leadership.
  • Attend all required trainings and provide certificates of completion.
  • Participate in supervision and technical assistance activities to support best practices.
  • Assist with coordinating, obtaining, and distributing concrete supports.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining a database of local resources and referrals in each Circle of Parents community.

Documentation and Communication

  • Treat all information with strict confidentiality.
  • Attend regular staff meetings.
  • Record monthly work times and schedule changes on the staff calendar.
  • Complete all required documentation each time you work, including referral forms, sign-in sheets, and notes.
  • Maintain an active email account and respond to or forward emails to appropriate staff members.
  • Send parent group reminder emails.
  • Comply with evaluation, monitoring, and reporting requirements.

Additional Employee Requirements

  • Follow guidelines outlined in the Employee Manual.
  • Assist with and attend FSNCC-sponsored events as requested.
  • Complete annual projects and professional development goals following employee review.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
