My pregnancy was high risk, requiring me to see two different doctors two to three times a week. My baby girl arrived unexpectedly at 29 weeks. One day, I started bleeding and began driving to the hospital, but I couldn’t make it. I had to pull over and wait for EMS. By the time I arrived at the hospital, I was already 9 centimeters dilated, and the birth was progressing rapidly. As soon as my water broke, Nyla’s hand emerged, leading to an immediate emergency C-section.
The experience was overwhelming and emotional, and all I could think about was how to help my baby. Seeing her with a breathing tube and feeding support was difficult, but trusting in God and holding onto faith helped ease my worries. FSNCC was incredible! They provided books, clothes, and gifts for my other children. Without the nurses, FSNCC, and other NICU parents, I don’t know how I would have made it through.
